*Wedding Season to Generate ₹6.5 Lakh Crore Business*

*•Period & Scale: Between November 1 and December 14, 2025, about 46 lakh weddings are expected across India, generating an estimated ₹6.5 lakh crore in business.*

•2024 saw 48 lakh weddings worth ₹5.9 lakh crore, while 2023 had 38 lakh weddings worth ₹4.74 lakh crore.

*•Spending Pattern:*

•Apparel, jewellery, footwear & fashion items: 34%

•Food & sweets: 5%

•Grocery & vegetables: 5%

•Gifts: 4%

•Other goods: 6%

*•Services:*

•Event management – 21%
•Catering – 10%

•Photography & videography – 2%

•Travel & hospitality – 3%

•Floral decoration – 4%

•Music & lighting – 3% each

•Other services – 3%

*•Employment Impact:* Over one crore temporary and part-time jobs likely to be created, benefiting decorators, caterers, florists, artists, transporters, and MSMEs in textiles, jewellery, packaging, and logistics.

*•Regional Highlight:* Delhi alone will contribute about ₹1.8 lakh crore from 4.8 lakh weddings.

*•Tax Revenue:* Estimated ₹75,000 crore in government tax receipts (GST and others).

*•Comment:* CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal noted weddings as a strong driver of domestic trade, self-reliance, and employment momentum.
