*Purport*

*King Bharata, who took his third birth in the family of a good brāhmaṇa, is an example of good birth for the revival of previous transcendental consciousness. King Bharata was the emperor of the world, and since his time this planet has been known among the demigods as Bhārata-varṣa. Formerly it was known as Ilāvṛta-varṣa. The emperor, at an early age, retired for spiritual perfection but failed to achieve success. In his next life he took birth in the family of a good brāhmaṇa and was known as Jaḍa Bharata because he always remained secluded and did not talk to anyone. And later on he was discovered as the greatest transcendentalist by King Rahūgaṇa. From his life it is understood that transcendental endeavors, or the practice of yoga, never go in vain. By the grace of the Lord the transcendentalist gets repeated opportunities for complete perfection in Kṛṣṇa consciousness.*

why nathuram godse killed Mahatma.

In 1947, when India was partitioned there was a lot of pain and confusion. Millions were uprooted and hundreds of thousands died. It was the biggest human tragedy in Indian history. Confused and angry, many mistakenly blamed all this on the Mahatma as he was the biggest target they could find. They thought he had the power to stop the partition [he didn't] and he had the power to stop the violence [he did stop a vast chunk of it in the east].

For many on the Hindu right, Mahatma was seen as soft towards Muslims. They could not see his vision and his message of peace was seen as compromising.

The biggest issue was the India's west [Punjab to Gujarat] was exploding and no one really anticipated. Indian leadership prepared for the worst in Bengal and sent Gandhi to put out the fires. And there was nothing really done to put out the fires in Punjab. They had no real plans and were stunned by the sheer scale of violence. Hindu right was extremely angry on the western side that Gandhi didn't come to save him. Ironically, if he were not assassinated, he would have proceeded to Punjab to control the violence there. And Mahatma did plan to go to Punjab even earlier [Sept 1947] but was retained in Delhi by Sardar Patel as the situation in the capital was even more dire.

Many of Gandhi's peace objectives were also twisted. The sad thing was the rumor mill was the key factor.

55 crores to Pakistan: This was the much talked about thing of that day. Indian government over Pakistan Rs. 75 crores from splitting the treasury and gave an initial Rs. 20 crores. By the time it could give the remaining, the war in Kashmir begun. Some in the government want to block the money. Others wanted to pay. Although Mahatma Gandhi wanted the Indian government to pay what it owed, some twisted this as portraying the Mahatma having his major fast to arm twist the government to pay this money. That is absurd - why would he fast just for paying some amount of money? But, many don't question that.

At the end of the day, the extremists some of whom didn't really oppose the partition wanted the Mahatma [the most vociferous opponent of the partition] to act as just a partisan Hindu instead of an Indian. They saw his overtures to bring all communities together as a threat. They mistakenly believed that the Mahatma was the source of this violence & believed he caused the partition and he fasted to pay the 55 crores to Pakistan.

No More Hassle for Pensioners: Get Pension Benefits with Digital Life Certificate via Mobile: Pensioners are a vital part of our society, and ensuring that they receive their benefits seamlessly is of utmost importance.

No More Hassle for Pensioners: Get Pension Benefits with Digital Life Certificate via Mobile: Pensioners are a vital part of our society, and ensuring that they receive their benefits seamlessly is of utmost importance. However, for many years, one of the biggest challenges faced by pensioners was the requirement to physically submit a life certificate in person in order to continue receiving their pension. This often involved long queues, travel, and a lot of time. But as technology has evolved, so have the processes. Today, pensioners can now submit their life certificates digitally via their mobile phones, making the entire process far simpler and more efficient.

The government has introduced a revolutionary system to eliminate the traditional hassles involved in obtaining pension benefits. The Digital Life Certificate (DLC) allows pensioners to confirm their life status electronically without having to visit a bank, post office, or any other government office. Let’s dive into how pensioners can now access their pension benefits effortlessly with the help of a Digital Life Certificate via their mobile.

What is a Digital Life Certificate?
A Digital Life Certificate (DLC) is an electronic verification tool that confirms the pensioner’s life status, which is essential to continue receiving pension benefits. In the past, pensioners were required to physically appear at a bank or post office to submit a life certificate, sometimes involving long waits or travel to distant locations. The introduction of the Digital Life Certificate changes all that. This digital solution allows pensioners to submit their life certificate using their mobile phones, thereby eliminating the need for physical paperwork or travel. The process uses biometric verification to ensure the authenticity of the pensioner’s identity, adding an extra layer of security and reliability.

The Digital Life Certificate process is designed to be simple and efficient. It ensures that pensioners no longer need to stand in long lines or deal with bureaucratic red tape. Instead, they can now authenticate their identity through biometric data like fingerprints or iris scans, and their life certificate will be processed electronically. The result is a much faster and easier way to ensure that pensioners continue receiving their benefits.

How Does the Digital Life Certificate Work?
The Digital Life Certificate process is straightforward and can be completed in just a few simple steps using a mobile phone. First, pensioners need to download the official Jeevan Pramaan app from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once the app is installed, they will be required to authenticate their identity using biometric verification. This can be done through fingerprint scanning or iris recognition, depending on what is available on the mobile device or any external biometric devices linked to the phone.

After the biometric data is successfully verified, the Digital Life Certificate is generated automatically within the app. This certificate contains all the relevant details of the pensioner, such as their identification number (often linked to Aadhaar), and confirms that the person is alive and entitled to receive their pension benefits. Once the certificate is generated, it is sent directly to the pension disbursing agency such as a bank or pension office without the need for any paper-based submission.

The moment the pension disbursing agency receives the certificate and verifies it, the pensioner is notified that their pension benefits will continue. This digital submission ensures that the entire process is fast, secure, and completely paperless.

Benefits of Using the Digital Life Certificate
There are several advantages to using the Digital Life Certificate system, not only for pensioners but also for the entire pension distribution process. One of the most obvious benefits is the convenience it offers. Pensioners no longer have to visit government offices or banks to submit their life certificates. Instead, they can complete the entire process from the comfort of their own home using a smartphone.

This convenience is especially beneficial for elderly pensioners who may find it difficult to travel long distances or stand in long lines. By using the Digital Life Certificate, they can avoid the physical strain and time-consuming nature of traditional methods.

Another significant advantage of the Digital Life Certificate is the amount of time it saves. With the traditional method, pensioners often had to spend a considerable amount of time waiting in line at banks or post offices to submit their documents. The digital process, however, is far quicker. Once the biometric verification is complete, the certificate is automatically generated and submitted in seconds, meaning there’s no need for waiting or manual intervention.

Additionally, the Digital Life Certificate is a cost-effective solution for pensioners. There are no extra charges for submitting the certificate digitally, which means pensioners avoid the costs associated with travel, postage, or other administrative fees that would be incurred using traditional methods. This also leads to a more efficient process overall, with pensioners saving money and time.

The system is also far more secure than traditional methods. Biometric authentication ensures that there is no risk of fraud, and since the system is integrated with government databases like Aadhaar, there is less chance of error or mismatch in the details. Furthermore, the Digital Life Certificate is securely stored and can’t be easily lost or tampered with.

Moreover, the Digital Life Certificate process is environmentally friendly. By eliminating paper-based forms, the system reduces the reliance on printed documents, contributing to a greener and more sustainable approach to pension administration.

Who Can Use the Digital Life Certificate?
The Digital Life Certificate service is available to Indian pensioners who receive their pensions through government schemes such as the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), the General Provident Fund (GPF), and the Public Provident Fund (PPF). Pensioners from both public and private sectors can also benefit from this service, as long as their pension is disbursed through participating banks or institutions.

To use the service, pensioners need to have a valid Aadhaar number for biometric verification, a mobile phone with internet connectivity, and access to a biometric device (either built into the phone or through an external device). Pensioners must also be registered with their respective pension disbursing agency, such as a bank or pension office, in order to ensure that their Digital Life Certificate is submitted to the correct entity.

Challenges and Solutions
While the Digital Life Certificate system is undoubtedly a breakthrough, it’s not without its challenges. One of the main hurdles faced by some pensioners is their unfamiliarity with digital technologies. Elderly pensioners, especially those living in rural or remote areas, may find it difficult to navigate mobile apps or biometric authentication systems. To address these issues, the government has set up Common Service Centers (CSCs) where pensioners can go and receive assistance in completing the verification process.

Additionally, there are training sessions available to help pensioners become more comfortable with using the app and the biometric authentication features. For those without smartphones, there are still options available to submit their Digital Life Certificates through biometric kiosks or by visiting local post offices or banks.

These solutions ensure that the benefits of the Digital Life Certificate system can be accessed by all pensioners, regardless of their technological proficiency or access to mobile devices.

Conclusion :
The introduction of the Digital Life Certificate system has been a game-changer for pensioners. It simplifies and accelerates the process of confirming a pensioner’s life status and ensures that their pension benefits continue without interruption. This digital solution eliminates the need for long queues, travel, and physical paperwork, making it a convenient, secure, and environmentally friendly option.

*Translation*

*The mind is restless, turbulent, obstinate and very strong, O Kṛṣṇa, and to subdue it, I think, is more difficult than controlling the wind.*

*Purport*

*The mind is so strong and obstinate that it sometimes overcomes the intelligence, although the mind is supposed to be subservient to the intelligence. For a man in the practical world who has to fight so many opposing elements, it is certainly very difficult to control the mind. Artificially, one may establish a mental equilibrium toward both friend and enemy, but ultimately no worldly man can do so, for this is more difficult than controlling the raging wind. In the Vedic literature (Kaṭha Upaniṣad 1.3.3–4) it is said:*

ātmānaṁ rathinaṁ viddhi
śarīraṁ ratham eva ca
buddhiṁ tu sārathiṁ viddhi
manaḥ pragraham eva ca
indriyāṇi hayān āhur
viṣayāṁs teṣu gocarān
ātmendriya-mano-yuktaṁ
bhoktety āhur manīṣiṇaḥ

*“The individual is the passenger in the car of the material body, and intelligence is the driver. Mind is the driving instrument, and the senses are the horses. The self is thus the enjoyer or sufferer in the association of the mind and senses. So it is understood by great thinkers.” Intelligence is supposed to direct the mind, but the mind is so strong and obstinate that it often overcomes even one’s own intelligence, as an acute infection may surpass the efficacy of medicine. Such a strong mind is supposed to be controlled by the practice of yoga, but such practice is never practical for a worldly person like Arjuna. And what can we say of modern man? The simile used here is appropriate: one cannot capture the blowing wind. And it is even more difficult to capture the turbulent mind. The easiest way to control the mind, as suggested by Lord Caitanya, is chanting “Hare Kṛṣṇa,” the great mantra for deliverance, in all humility. The method prescribed is sa vai manaḥ kṛṣṇa-padāravindayoḥ: one must engage one’s mind fully in Kṛṣṇa. Only then will there remain no other engagements to agitate the mind.*
